The Indian Film Industry is always on the lookout for releasing movies during the festive season. And what better ocassion than Eid to release a movie. This time round it is the Salman Khan starrer Sultan running in theatres all across the nation.

1. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)

The story of a Hanuman devotee (Salman Khan) who takes it upon himself to help a mute, little girl (Harshaali Malhotra) unite with her parents in Pakistan. The film, co-starring Kareena Kapoor-Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and made a whopping Rs. 320 crores in India alone!

2. Kick (2014)

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut starred Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Needless to say, the film was a huge success, minting close to Rs. 232 crores at the box office!

3. Chennai Express (2013)

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone had the chance to take over Eid celebrations in 2013, with Rohit Shetty’s action-comedy film, Chennai Express. With a box-office collection of Rs. 227 crores, need we say more about its success?

4. Ek Tha Tiger (2012)

Kabir Khan’s romantic action drama marked Salman Khan’s first collaboration with Yash Raj Films. Although the movie opened to mixed reviews, it did not disappoint at the box office with returns of close to Rs. 200 crores.

5. Bodyguard (2011)

Starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film was a remake of a Malayalam film of the same name. Bodyguard shattered all records at that time, going on to record the highest opening ever before settling for box office collections to the tune of Rs. 150 crores.
