Spider-Man Homecoming , the American superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man is the sixteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The second reboot of the Spider-Man franchise features Tom Holland as Peter Parker trying to balance out out his high school life while being Spider-Man and facing the villainous Vulture.

On April 21, 2016, it was made official that Robert Downey Jr. would reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man. This also marks the first time that a Spider-Man film will include another superhero character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Age is Just a Number

Director Jon Watts revealed that Peter Parker age in the movie will be around 15 years old. Tom Holland’s age at the time of the movie filming was around age 19-20! Tom Holland is also the youngest actor to be cast as Spider-Man. His predecessors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, were 25 and 26, respectively, when they were cast.

As per producer Kevin Feige, Spider-man’s new threads in this sequel will be based off of the classic version of the costume.

Spider-man Homecoming’s release date was originally meant for Thor: Ragnarok (2017), which was then moved to the November 3, 2017 release slot for Black Panther (2018). This rescheduling ultimately changed the release dates for several other Marvel films.

All other plans for The Amazing Spider-Man sequels along with Sinister Six movie were scratched due to Spider-Man Homecoming. Other spin-offs for the franchise in that universe are still under production by Sony, such as Venom.

Michael Keaton plays a villain called the Vulture which is a man in a bird costume. Coincidentally, Michael Keaton also starred in the Best Picture winning film Birdman in 2014 and that character is based off of Batman, which Michael Keaton played in 1989 and 1992.
