It is the story of Bhola (Sunil Dutt) who falls for Bindu (Saira Banu), but lacks money and charm. To win her heart he comes up with a plan where he pretends to serenade Bindu, but in reality, he’s only lip-synching. Mehmood’s character of a south Indian music teacher was a key highlight of the film. You can’t help but love him after watching the movie.
Gol Maal (1979)
Considered to be an all-time masterpiece, legendary director Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Gol Maal is cinema at its best. It is the story of Ram Prasad played by celebrated actor, Amol Palekar who is desperately looking for a high-paying job. He meets Bhavani Shankar, a man who believes that men who are mustache-less lack maturity and character. Ram makes sure that he fulfills these requirements and gets a job. A lot of rib-tickling events happen and result in an exciting climax. This entertaining package of confusion is a must see for everyone.
Coolie No 1. (1995)
Coolie No 1. stars the ultimate comedy hero of all times – Govinda. The direction of David Dhawan adds icing on the cake. Also featuring the gorgeous Karisma Kapoor and the legendary Kader Khan, the movie is a chucklesome ride. The film is about Hoshiyar Chand (Kader Khan) who wants his daughters to be married into the wealthiest families. A series of hilarious events occur and his daughter ends up marrying a coolie Raju (Govinda). A pure Govinda and David Dhawan movie, it will leave you in a cheerful mood.
Andaz Apna Apna (1994)
Full of laughs and unforgettable dialogues, director Rajkumar Santoshi’s Andaz Apna Apna is the one of the craziest comedy movies Bollywood has ever seen. Andaz Apna Apna is the story of two boys Amar and Prem played by Aamir Khan and Salman Khan respectively, who set out to marry a super-rich girl Raveena Bajaj played by Raveena Tandon. The film also had Karishma played by Juhi Chawla to add to the madness. This epic laugh riot gave us characters like Teja, Robert and Crime Master Gogo who are the funniest characters we’ve seen on screen. The movie is nothing but sheer madness that will make your day!
Hera Pheri (2000)
Priyadarshan’s rib-tickling movie Hera Pheri is considered to be an iconic comedy movie that established Akshay Kumar as one of the most loved comedy heroes of India. It is the story of three men Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty who live together. One night, they receive a phone call and their lives change forever. Paresh Rawal’s character called Babu Rao Ganpat Rao Apte became very popular among the masses. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)
Maverick Rajkumar Hirani came up with Munna Bhai and Circuit who became the new age Jai and Veeru within no time. Munna Bhai M.B.B.S is the story of Murli Prasad Sharma aka Munna who is a gangster with a golden heart. His job is kidnapping, breaking bones and ‘paisa vasooli’ along with his gang. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004)
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi is a complete family entertainer featuring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. Directed by the king of comedy movies, David Dhawan, the movie is a cute-romantic comedy. Sunny (Akshay Kumar) and Sameer (Salman Khan) are room-mates who are complete opposites.
