It is the story of Kundavi (Jyothika) who gets married to Gautham (Suriya) in an arranged-marriage set-up against her wishes. 7aum Arivu (2011)
Directed by maverick A. R. Murugadoss, 7aum Arivu is a martial arts action thriller featuring Suriya and Shruti Hassan. The movie is extremely famous for its martial arts and visual effects. The story revolved around Bodhidharma who is a master of martial arts and medical remedies and the son of a great Tamil king. The movie shows his journey to China where he is sent by his guru to stop the spread of a pandemic disease. Suriya’s exceptional performance was the highlight of this movie.

The movie saw Suriya reprising his title role along with Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Vivek and Santhanam in supporting roles. Singam is set on an undercover after meeting the Home Minister. Vikram Kumar’s sci-fi movie and Suriya’s best performance ever, 24 is based on the concept of time-travel. Suriya is seen is a triple role in this movie also featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nithya Menen, Saranya Ponvannan. The recipient of National Film Award, 24 is the story of a reputed scientist and watchmaker, Dr. Sethuraman (Suriya) who lives with his wife Priya (Nithya Menen). His life changes after inventing a watch using which a person can travel back and forth in time for a maximum of 24 hours. This story keeps you intrigued till the last moment. Suriya played characters that will be remembered for years.
Suriya’s upcoming 36th movie
This yet untitled project will mark Suriya’s first film with ace director Selvaraghavan. The movie is currently in its pre-production stage. Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to play the female lead. Produced by Dream Warrior pictures, Suriya’s 36th film is expected to release by Diwali 2018.
