The last match of the India Vs Sri Lanka three-match series came to an end with a thrilling draw at the end of day 5. With this, team India won the series with 1-0. The first two days of the first test match saw very little play at the Eden Gardens. We witnessed a stellar show from Bhuvneshwar Kumar who took 4 for 8 in 11 overs. KL Rahul scored his 10th Test fifty while skipper Virat Kohli completed his 50th international century. The match was eventually declared a draw.
The second match of the Sri Lanka Tour at Nagpur was a massive win for the Indian team. Team Sri Lanka started their day in Nagpur after conceding a 405-run first innings lead and eventually crashed to 166 all out in the second session.

The third test match commenced on 2 December at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in New Delhi. Let’s take a look a the highlights of the match.
India won the toss and decided to bat first. The first day saw a thrilling game coming from both the squads. Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli shared a spectacular 283-run stand but Vijay fell for 155 as India ended day one on 371/4 against Sri Lanka. Earlier, skipper Kohli reached 5000 runs as the hosts continued their domination of Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
On Day 2 of the third test match, the hosts continued their dominance with a spectacular show coming from skipper Virat Kohli who completed yet another double century to help India pile on 536 runs in the first innings. Sr Lanka started off on a not so good note losing two wickets with just 14 runs on the board. Skipper Dinesh Chandimal and came to the respite as they ended the day at 131-3.
Team Sri Lanka resumed at 131/3 with Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal at the crease. The phenomenal duo went on to score splendid centuries striking a 181-run partnership for the fourth wicket. R. Aswin scalped the most crucial wicket of Mathews leading to the collapse of the Sri Lankan army. From 317-4, Sri Lanka came at 343-9, trailing India by 180 runs. Sri Lankan captain Chandimal remained unbeaten on 147. For India, Md Shami, Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets each.
India scored at a brisk pace scoring 246 in 52.2 overs, setting Sri Lanka a huge target of 410 runs. Sri Lanka on the other side managed to score 31 at stumps, losing three wickets in a hostile session of play. India’s deadly batting trio Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma registered half-centuries in the second innings. It was the 8th fifty for Sharma while for skipper Kohli it was the 15th fifty.
Roshen Silva and Niroshan Dickwella kept the Lankan army afloat in the game while the Indian bowlers struggled to take wickets and halt the flow of runs. The match eventually ended in a draw. India won the test series with 1-0.

With a stunning victory in the test series, both the teams are all set for the first ODI match scheduled for 10 December.
