Just like the intriguing title of the movie Aiyaary (which means the ultimate trickery), the trailer of the much awaited movie will keep you on the edge of your seats with each frame. The 2 minutes 48 seconds long trailer leaves you with jitters dropping hints of another masterpiece coming from cult director Neeraj Pandey.
The trailer of the movie shows two Indian Army officers- a mentor and his protege who suddenly have a fallout. While the mentor, Colonel Abhay Singh, has complete faith in the system, the protege Major Jai Bakshi, who was once an honest officer thinks the exact opposite. Every second of the trailer is about everything that you expect from an exceptional thriller.
The word ‘Aiyaary’ fabulously sums up what these two will resort to ultimately in the face of extreme crisis. Both the mentor as well as the protege are seen camouflaging to accomplish their respective objectives. With a smashing dialogue delivery from the actors, the trailer is certainly gripping and will give you goosebumps. It will leave you with so many questions like why did an honest officer turn rogue, what will happen when he comes face to face with his mentor, who is the culprit and so many more. This is what makes Neeraj Pandey the maverick of thrillers who knows how to cultivate curiosity.
Recently, on the occasion of Vijay Diwas, the poster of the movie was released. It sees a plethora of the entire ensemble cast including Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Rakul Preet Singh, Vikram Gokhale and Naseeruddin Shah. With a flair of the Indian national flag all over it, the poster shows glimpses of the major centres of events- Kashmir, Delhi and London around which the story of the film will run.
While we have seen Manoj Bajpayee in such characters, this is going to be the first time that Sidharth Malhotra will be playing the role of a military officer. He looks suave in the trailer and promises of a stellar performance. He has previously starred in movies like Student Of The Year, Ek Villain, Hasee Toh Phasee and Iteffaq. Sidharth has been experimenting a lot with the kind of roles that he is playing. His last movie Iteffaq- a thriller was an important step in this direction. Aiyaary can be another path-breaking movie for him.
Aiyaary comes from the house of the much acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey. Each of his movies have a strong social and patriotic angle to them be it Baby (2015), Special 26 (2013) or A Wednesday! (2008). He has established himself as a content-driven director with an amazing story-telling ability.
Aiyaary marks a decade of Neeraj Pandey in Bollywood. His directorial venture A Wednesday! featuring veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher released ten years back on Republic Day. Interestingly, Neeraj who has previously worked with Akshay Kumar in Special 26 and Baby is releasing Aiyaary on 26 January. Akshay’s ambitious project PadMan is releasing on the same day. PadMan is a social drama based on the real life story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who became a popular figure for inventing low-cost sanitary making machines.
It is going to be very exciting to see both these movies release on the occasion of Republic Day- which is a historic day for India. 26 January is a day that reminds us of the sacrifices made by the braveheart soldiers and freedom fighters of India who fought for the solidarity and welfare of our nation. It is an ideal day to release two movies that salute the spirit of our true heroes.
Presented by Reliance Entertainment and Plan C Studios, Aiyaary is a Friday Filmworks Productions and is produced by Shital Bhatia.
