Ranveer Singh’s Physical Transformation for ‘Gully Boy’ Will Stun You!

Ranveer Singh is known to get into the skin of every character that he portrays on the big screen. He leaves no stone unturned in inhabiting the inner world of his characters. His latest Instagram post is a clear reflection of his dedication and conviction for his upcoming movie Gully Boy.

Ranveer shared the before and after pictures of the dramatic transformation he has undergone to prepare for the movie. While most of the actors are seen bulking up and working on 6 pack abs for their movies, Ranveer has lost a tremendous amount of weight for the movie.

Ranveer’s radical physical transformation is for the character of Naezy aka Naved Shaikh which he will be playing in Gully Boy. Naved Shaikh is a rapper from the slums of Mumbai. He is one of India’s first Hindi rap artists who is extremely popular on social media.

Gully Boy is being helmed by Zoya Akhtar. This is the second time that she is teaming up with Ranveer. Their first collaboration was the 2015 blockbuster Dil Dhadakne Do. The movie is based on the lives of street rappers in Mumbai. Keeping with the styling, Singh has chopped off his tresses and is all set to play a hip-hop style rapper in this exciting project that also features Alia Bhatt.

Before this, the dapper actor had beefed up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s soon to be released magnum opus Padmaavat where he plays the the character of foreign invader Alauddin Khilji.

Since he made his debut in 2010 with Band Baaja Baaraat, Ranveer Singh has been on every mind. His unabashed attitude, candour and quirk have led him a long way along with some exceptional performances in movies like Lootera, Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. Let’s wait to see how Ranveer brings to life a hip hop avatar in Gully Boy.
