Akshay Kumar starrer Pad Man has been much talked-about ever since its first look was released. The R. Balki directorial debut is inspired by the life of an activist in Tamil Nadu who revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in his village. Though there were multiple changes in the release date to avoid clashes with other big releases early this year, the wait for the movie is finally over. In addition to that, the constant praise pouring in on Twitter has given new reasons for us to go watch it.

Pad Man is the true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a man who emerged as a societal hero by inventing a machine to produce low-cost sanitary napkins in his village. It marks Twinkle Khanna’s debut as a film producer. Even though the movie has a serious theme, it is not preachy. That is what enhances its appeal.

Pad Man is complete with comic moments that will crack you up. Apart from the humorous and yet, effective handling of the theme, the movie has a melodious musical score to look forward to. All of it comes together as a complete package, meant to entertain and enlighten at the same time.
