Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Omertà’ Trailer Is Absolutely Gripping: Watch Now!

The all new trailer for Omertà is finally out. The movie is based on the real-life story of a lethal terrorist, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. This brand new Hansal Mehta directorial explores the making of a terrorist. The trailer is bound to send chills down your spine!

The director has claimed the movie to be his bravest effort till date. Rajkummar Rao has explicitly acknowledged it to be one of his toughest roles till date. The movie is already being celebrated on an international scale. Omertà recently was applauded in the coveted Toronto International Film Festival.

The two minute trailer opens in London, with glimpses into the character’s world. A voiceover runs in the background preparing a mindset for him to succeed in his mission. We see him perform stellar action sequels, making discreet phone calls and slithering back and forth in sketchy alleys. We get to see a disciplined character who is regularly works out in order to stay fit. We also see him having a conversation with the police under disguise, as he calls himself Rohit Verma. The trailer ends with a scene with the character climbing into a police van with a devilish smile spread across his face.

Like each and every one his roles, Rajkummar Rao is seen to put in his heart and soul for bringing this character to life. His look has been meticulously crafted and gives off a chillingly evil appearance.

Shot around London and India, Omertà shall feature some of the deadliest terrorist attacks around the globe. These include 1994 Delhi Kidnappings, the 26/11 Mumbai Terror Strike, and the 9/11 World Trade Centre Attack. The brutal beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl is also a part of Omertà.

Rajkummar Rao has spoken about his experience of adapting this character. They visited some of the places frequented by Omar in London during his transformation from an LSE graduation student to becoming this deadly terrorist. Rao added that it hadn’t been an easy journey for him and had to touch and feel his past to understand him. He promises a moment of shock and silence during the rolling of end credits.

The movie was screened at the Jio MAMI Film Festival. Omertà brings back the legendary actor-director duo of Mehta and Rajkummar, who have worked together in films like Aligarh, CityLights and Shahid. Produced by Swiss Entertainment in association with Karma Media, the film is slated to hit the theatres on April 20.
