Avengers: Infinity War is the biggest Marvel film till date. Topping the list of most anticipated movies of 2018, the film is much more than a sequel to 2012’s The Avengers and 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The first trailer had given us a glimpse into the magnitude of this project that brings together multiple elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We have seen superheroes like the Black Panther, Spiderman, The Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America coming together earlier. However, this time, they join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to battle an unthinkable evil that threatens the entire cosmos.

The Story so Far

The first trailer gave us sufficient reason to believe that Avengers: Infinity War is a clash between the greatest ever forces in the MCU. On one side of this war is an intergalactic tyrant Thanos and on the other, all the Marvel superheroes we have idolized. There is Spiderman whose “Spidey sense” warns him of impending danger. Then, there is the Hulk returning to the planet, crashing right through Dr. Strange’s house. A visibly disturbed Captain America appears without his shield, the Black Widow is all charged up. And so are Iron Man, the Black Panther and the Guardians of the Galaxy!

We also know why our superheroes are so desperate to indulge in a war against the most dangerous villain of all time. The  crazed-out Thanos is out to “re-balance” the entire universe which obviously means complete destruction for others. This evil master plan has its backstory in the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy.

But the idea of altering the universe seems too far-fetched even for the mighty Thanos. So, how does anyone really do it? Thanks to the second trailer, we now have the answer to that!

Revelations Made in the New Trailer

The new trailer opens with a voice-over by Gamora, an orphan from an alien world. Raised by Thanos himself, Gamora tells the story of his viciousness, introducing his name in the end. The dramatic effect is enough to give us the chills as we see a frightened Tony Stark soon after.

The trailer continues with shocking stunts and moments that make us smile. For instance, the scene where the superheroes arrive Wakanda to shake hands with the Black Panther is a certain winner. But more importantly, the trailer leaves us gaping as we realize how exactly the super-villain plans on “re-balancing” the world to suit his fancy. To the horror of those who know it, Thanos is on a mission to collect all the Infinity Stones!

The Infinity Stones

Marvel has built up the story for the Infinity War since 2011 when the “Tesseract” aka “the Space Stone” was mentioned in Thor‘s post credits! More of these mysteriously fascinating “stones” were introduced in the films that followed: Thor: The Dark World (2013), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Dr. Strange (2016) and finally, Black Panther (2017).

The Infinity Stones are “six singularities” compressed into oval-shaped stones: Space, Mind, Reality, Power, Time and Soul. These singularities existed before the Big Bang. Though the stones are indestructible, they are susceptible to mutation in the wrong hands. That essentially means that anyone in possession of all the stones will have omnipotent and omniscient power. Considering the unknown location of these stones, it would be intriguing to watch how Thanos plans to hunt them down.

Avengers: Infinity War comes to theaters on April 27. Remember to book your tickets on Paytm.
