Priyanka Chopra has been M.I.A. from Bollywood since the year 2016. Her last Bollywood release was the crime-drama ‘Jai Gangaajal’ in the same year. The actress has been involved in a variety of international projects since then, including films like Baywatch, A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t it Romantic to name a few and an ongoing TV thriller Quantico. After making her mark in Hollywood as both an actress and a singer, Priyanka is finally making a comeback to Indian films.
The upcoming film is titled Bharat and features Salman Khan as the male lead. The actor took to Twitter to officially welcome Priyanka to Bollywood again.
The shooting locations for Bharat are mostly spread across different parts of India. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar with whom Priyanka worked in Gunday. Also, this is Ali’s third directorial starring Salman Khan after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.
The film marks the third collaboration between Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra after Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Salaam E Ishq. Apart from Priyanka’s return, five new looks of Salman is a major highlight of the movie. These looks will span over 6 decades and also, showcase the actor in a leaner and younger avatar. The film is a joint venture between Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Production Pvt Ltd and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
Bharat is an official adaptation of the South Korean film Ode to My Father. The latter narrates the story of a man’s separation from and reunion with his family during the Korean war.
