1. Niffler

Nifflers are adorable platypus-like creatures which are attracted to shiny objects. So, they can wreak havoc if left loose in the vicinity of coins, jewels and treasures. They use their belly as an efficient, bottomless storage pouch for all their steals!

2. Basilisk

This is one of the deadliest beasts we have come across in the Harry Potter Wizarding World. A creature usually bred by Dark Wizards, the Basilisk is a giant serpent who can actually kill you with a stare if you look directly in its eye. This stare is so powerful that even its mere reflection can render a victim paralyzed for days. The Basilisk can grow up to fifty feet in length, and is a dark green colour with large yellow eyes.

3. Centaur

Though they may appear to be half-human, they are actually a species of their own. Their upper body does seem human-like and extends into a horse’s anatomy. Centaurs can easily speak human languages and are gifted with the abilities of divination and clairvoyance. They are quite temperamental and do not like any intrusion in their territory.

4. Thestral

Thestrals are a breed of winged horses that have a ghostly appearance. Their skeletal body and reptilian facial features often make them dangerous to look at. However, they are very intelligent and can be tamed with proper care. Their leathery wings resemble a bat’s and they are only visible to those who have seen someone die!

5. Hippogriff

Hippogriffs appear as a cross between a giant eagle and a horse. The smooth transition of feather to fur on a hippogriff”s body is strikingly beautiful. These creatures are carnivorous and can be extremely dangerous unless tamed.

6. Phoenix

The phoenix is a large, swan-sized bird with feathers in shades of red and gold. They are gentle herbivores known for their loyalty. They have an immensely long life- span because of their ability to burst into flames and rise from the ashes over and over again.

A demiguise resembles an ape with long silky hair. Though a peaceful herbivore, a demiguise is extremely difficult to catch because of its ability to make itself invisible whenever it feels threatened.

8. Bowtruckle

Bowtruckles look like animated miniature plants. These insect-eating creatures dwell on wand-wood trees and are very difficult to spot because of the camouflage. Generally peaceful in nature, bowtruckles can turn violent when threatened.

The occamy is a beautiful blue-silver winged creature resembling a dragon. It has the special ability to grow and shrink in order to fit any available space. It has the ability to fly and can get aggressive when disturbed.

10. Werewolf

Werewolves are humans with the ability to transform into wolf-like creatures on every full moon night. They cannot remember who they are after the transformation and can kill even their close friends and family. Survivors of a werewolf-bite are cursed to live as new werewolves for the rest of their lives.
