Veere Di Wedding has successfully managed to create the right kind of buzz right from the day of its announcement. The quirky trailer and the peppy soundtracks have raised the curiosity of moviegoers. The movie has a fresh storyline along with some really endearing characters.
Veere Di Wedding boasts of a stunning women-led ensemble cast featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. From gossip sessions to life lessons, these four Veeres make the most of their time together. The movie is a celebration of friendship, love and life. While we look forward to all the fun in the film, we’re also intrigued to know the backstory of each of the four leading ladies.
As the movie is gearing up for its release on June 1, let’s take a look at why Veere Di Wedding is different from usual Bollywood movies:
Real Characters, Real Friendships, Real Problems
Veere Di Wedding is the story of four friends who are totally different from each other. None of them appears to be superficial. Each one of them faces different challenges in life, and still keep going on. We see them displaying a mixed bag of emotions. These friends fight with each other and then get back together everytime. They display the friendship, love and affection that best friends feel for each other.
A Different Take on Commitment Issues
Usually, we have seen Bollywood movies about big fat weddings and a shy heroine who is blushing through all ceremonies and enjoying them. But Veere Di Wedding shows us a different side of weddings. The more relatable one. We see how Kalindi (Kareena Kapoor Khan) is unsure of her wedding and the baggage of commitment that comes along with it. There are some hilarious dialogues that show her anxiousness. We can’t wait to watch how Kalindi and her buddies take on her wedding.
Not a Chick Flick
There have not been many movies in Bollywood that display the bond between female buddies. Veere Di Wedding, being a few of them comes with high expectations. Since the movie features an all women star cast, there were assumptions that this one is going to be a chick flick, but the trailer proved them wrong. These veeres are not the typical girls who just talk about make-up, clothes and shopping. They are real women who question the norms and take stand for the right things. Witnessing such bold and brave women on screen is going to be a treat!
Quirky and Witty Dialogues
Going by the trailer, Veere Di Wedding has many quirky and witty dialogues in store for us. The way these ladies talk reminds us of our conversations with our best buddies. The writer has made it a point to use the language spoken by the current generation which seems to be in sync with the vibe and setting of the film as well.
Sumeet Vyas as the Relatable Groom-To-Be
A special mention to web sensation Sumeet Vyas, who seems to be the perfect choice to play a character who is not like the typical hero. He looks, acts and behaves like a regular guy who loves his girlfriend and wants to marry her. He is extremely charming in every frame. It’s not just his looks but his expressions and dialogue delivery. Be it his bewildered expression post the proposal scene, or the conversation with his father where he tells him that they’d discussed to have only 200 guests at the wedding. His expressions are on point giving us the much relatable groom-to-be.
