After a patriotism- inducing performance in Parmanu, John Abraham is back in another inspiring role in Satyameva Jayate. And this time, the actor is all set to fight corruption in surprising ways. A suspense- thriller at its core, Satyameva Jayate has already created a buzz with its posters and the first look. Now, the release of the trailer has further enhanced the overall impact.
Laced with hard- hitting dialogues and promising action sequences, the film also brings back the amazing duo of John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee, who last appeared together in 2013’s Shootout at Wadala. While the first look of the film had got us curious about the actors’ roles, the trailer throws more light on the kind of relationship they share.
Watch the trailer here:
The trailer begins with describing corruption as a metaphorical new religion that is destroying the society at the grassroot level. It becomes evident that John Abraham is playing the role of a cop who wishes to change this venomous system. His vigilante self seems to be responsible for the mysterious killings of corrupt officers in the city. Soon enough, Manoj Bajpayee emerges as the sole fatal threat to Abraham’s one-man army! As the violence and arson continues, the trailer gets more and more intriguing.
Amruta Khanvilkar, an established actress in Marathi cinema, appears as the female lead. While she has made special appearances in Bollywood films like Phoonk 2 and Himmatwala, she recently played a crucial role in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi.
The film will also feature a remake of the item song “Dilbar” from 1999’s romance drama Sirf Tum. And the trailer gives us a glimpse of the same. In addition to that, the song “Tajdar- E- Haram” from Atif Aslam’s Coke Studio performance is audible in the second half of the trailer.
The film is a Milap Zaveri directorial who has previously given us memorable dialogues in films such as Shootout at Wadala, Ek Villain, Heyy Babyy, Kaante and Masti. Zaveri’s other directorial ventures include several short films and 2016’s adult comedy Mastizaade. With Satyameva Jayate, the director is making a transition from light-hearted films to serious thrillers.
A Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Advani venture, Satyameva Jayate is jointly produced by T- Series and Emmay Entertainment.
