This is How Ant- Man & The Wasp Fits Into the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Marvel fans are looking forward to digging clues related to Avengers: Infinity War in the upcoming Ant-Man & The Wasp. There are endless questions revolving around when and how these events fit into the MCU timeline. For instance, why exactly did Ant-Man not join the Avengers’ army during the battle? This is particularly strange considering how the tiny superhero was a significant ally during the events of Captain America: Civil War. Besides, considering the fact that even the teenage Spiderman was a part of the Infinity War, Ant Man’s absence was confusing.

The film’s trailer has only added to the list of questions. This is mainly because no one seems to be perturbed about the destruction of the universe that brought an end to the Infinity War. So, how exactly does this Ant-Man sequel fit into the Marvel timeline?

Here are a few answers:

Ant-Man was on House Arrest During All These Events!

99% of Ant-Man & The Wasp takes place long before the Infinity War. To be more precise, the film is set two years after Captain America: Civil War when Ant- Man went to assist Captain America in Germany. This was a direct violation of the Sokovia Accords. As a result, Ant-Man aka Scott Lang is put under house arrest, constantly monitored by FBI agent Jimmy Woo.

While Scott serves his term, several important events take place in the MCU. This includes the incidents in Dr. Strange, Spiderman: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther! After a span of two years, Scott’s adventures take place just before the Infinity War.

Ant-Man During & After The Infinity War

The Marvel fandom has been extremely curious about Ant-Man’s whereabouts during the Infinity War. The answer lies in the film’s post-credits scenes! We won’t give away the spoilers as yet but these scenes are set just after the events of this film. And on the MCU timeline, they run parallel to the events of Avengers: Infinity War, around the time Thanos makes his shocking moves!
