While the Zero trailer added to the curiosity about the plot, it also highlighted few of the reasons that make it a must-watch this Christmas. Let’s take a look.
Shahrukh Khan Plays A Dwarf for the First Time
Back in 2016, Shahrukh Khan’s stunning transformation for Fan was a result of extensive VFX. Now, we get to witness an even more amazing makeover in Zero as the actor appears as a dwarf for the first time ever. This makes him the fourth Indian actor of normal stature to play a vertically challenged individual. His character has been shot using Forced Perspective- a technique that employs optical illusion to alter dimensions and perspectives on screen.
Anushka Sharma Plays A Specially-Abled Character for the First Time
Another impressive aspect highlighted by the Zero trailer and the promotional posters is Anushka Sharma’s venture into playing a specially-abled character. The actress has donned a variety of roles for the camera including that of supernatural entities, chirpy youngsters and charismatic personalities. Her unique performance in Zero is certainly something to look forward to.
Sridevi’s Last Film Appearance
Although Sridevi wasn’t shooting for a film during her sudden demise in February 2018, she does make a special appearance in Zero. This creates more anticipation for fans who would love to see her on screen again. Also, this is the second film in which Shahrukh Khan has worked with Sridevi. The first time they worked together was in the 1996 movie Army.
Zero is an Aanand L. Rai directorial. He has previously given us films like Tanu Weds Manu, Raanjhanaa and Tanu Weds Manu: Returns. The film is a joint venture between Colour Yellow Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment, produced on a budget of ₹200 crore. That makes it SRK’s most expensive film till date.
Zero is all set to hit screens on December 21, 2018. Don’t forget to book your tickets on Paytm!
